RE: which used sleds to watch out for

personally you should check the sled over really good now adays all the sleds are just about the same for reliability but personally speaking i know people that have problems right now with there doo sdi revs but if i were you get a polaris either pro x or edge chassis bulletproof sleds ive got an 04 ss with 5800 and no problems at all very nice sled

RE: Polaris 900 Opinions....

ya know what burns my ass are these guys saying oh polaris is outdated... what about arctic cats f series and yamaha doesnt have any other new models besides the nytro so your point is? but they fail to tell ya that polaris does have the best suspension in the biz im not here to get people ticked but if you wanna bash brands take it to another board please it just gets me worked up...... even though polaris is 5 years behind supposedly the new xp's aint winning that many races so new isnt always betetr on the track another thign polaris stands for reliability not nescerrialy the fusions they were a joke but in my mind there the most relaible sled out there i got almost 5500 on my 04 ss 550 with absolutely no problems just changed the original belt last weekend

RE: yamaha losers

I'll be yer Smurfleberry...
There, fixed it.
Yamaha's have to slam on the breaks entering a corner as the weight of the things try to push them straight if they are going to fast. They run very nice on the smooth straights though. dont just about any sled run smooth on straight aways?

yamaha losers

how come everytime i go out and ride some idiot with a yamaha 4 stroke almost hits me? do these retards know how to drive a sled where i ride are basically dirt roads there wide enough for 2 cars to go down so last weekend i was going to stillwater from big moose and theres this rx 1 ton in front of me hes going 40 like me then in the turns he would just about slam his brakes on now give me a reason to not just wanna bash the people who drive these sleds heads in

RE: Looking for 2 sleds for the family

sounds like your against sea doo but buddy who is out selling them? im curious even though you say there so bad they still are the number 1 selling watercraft im not against 4s i just said the phazer was not a very good sled yamahs nitro maybe a better sled havent had the chance to ride one and dude you ned to chill and not be defensive i was just commenting that yamaha may have a new competetor in the 4s market which is good for the consumer like i have said before when you get a yammie stuck let the fun begin. whats the most snow you have taken your sled in vw man? its not that uncommon where i ride which is tug hill brantigham to see 2 feet+ of powder in a storm. so before you act like you have ridden in deep snow just consider that if yamaha's marine 4s are better then how come in every bassmaster tourney there are like zero yamaha 4 strokes there?

RE: Looking for 2 sleds for the family

ive ridden a 4 sled i havent ridden the apex but i feel the phazer is a bad nockoff of the rev type sled its so damn tippy in the front compared to rev's ive ridden more than 250 miles on a rev in 2 days and the rev chassis is way more stable than the phazer will ever be

RE: Looking for 2 sleds for the family

uh i disagree with the cheaper part they actually cost about the same to maintain imagine if/when you blow up a 4 stroke motor how much it will cost to rebuild it compared to a 2s now im not saying that 4s arent the future which they are but these 4 stroke fanatics are taking this whole thing a little far in my opinion no smell in the air? are you crazy there will always be a smell in the air as long as a fossil fuel is being burned well if you wash clothes then they dont smell like gas and oil just so ya know they forgot to mention the weight issue when you get teh sled buried. Ive driven a 4 stroke phazer and it isnt as good as its cracked up to be i thought it was a lousy sled and it pulled as hard as my 550 up to 40 which isnt saying much for a liquid sled

RE: '08 SKIDOOs- early verdict?

the low windscreen idea i think is a great idea for us younger riders it makes the sled look more cool when you add handguards but i think the new E tec is nearing the end of 2 stroke's in sleds. If thats as far as a 2 will go for emissions what happens when yammie or some company tries an sdi type system in a 4 stroke?

RE: just returned to the sport after 20 years, so what's thebest

Troy City garage blows(yes, horrible service), I live like 10 minutes away from there. They keep about a zillion quads in stock all year round, then get 2-3 sleds in the fall(all entry-level Cat, even though they're a yammy dealer). Anything else you have to order from the factory.
Seymour's in Latham is a nice dealer(really new), but they only carry Doo/Suzuki stuff. They usually have a pretty decent used selection though.
Tony's Yamaha in Ticonderoga is nice also, albeit a bit out of the way. They have TONS of used machines from every brand and prices are pretty good.
Yamaha wins for four strokes, hands down. Very reliable, great on gas, and the EFI ones are turnkey-and-go even on subzero days.
Doo's V-800 is okay, but it just doesn't have the 2stroke like "zip" of the Yamaha motors. You know you're riding a 4 stroke.
Cat has a few 4stroke models out there, and new Pol's are starting to as well. As usual, Polaris is 5 years behind everybody else.
But check want-ads as well. Don't get scared off, people here like to say want-ads are "buying someone else's garbage". 3 of the 4 machines I've owned came off want-ads, and all were fine machines. wait a sec polaris is 5 years behind? then that must make cat what like 10? they came out with rider forward just last year
